Workshops

Content:
In a series of 3 workshops, our AiR artist, Masayuki Akamatsu, will lead participants to realize an interactive audio/visual artwork using networking devices. At the first two days, he will introduce the basic skills and let participants have a picture of what kinds of tools and technologies will be involved in this experiment. Akamatsu will also develop a set of rules (basic mechanisms) with participants, which will be further implemented into the artwork shown at the end of the residency. These are the rules to drive the artwork and lead the audience to interact and to play with the sounds and images.

Day 1
Introduction of audio/visual equipment and presentation tools for artistic creation. Participant will learn how to present multimedia contents through varied mobile or stationary electronic devices, especially iPhone.

Day 2
Introduction of how interconnectivity and interactivity work in the systems of Akamatsu’s artwork. Participants will know how network-delivered/ triggered contents are bouncing around among wired or wireless devices through their “communications”.

Day 3
Introduction of a distributed autonomous system as an artwork. Artist will lead participants to further explore the intelligence and intuitiveness of network environment for the creation of artwork.
